There was a lot of soccer being played at Yarmouth high school on Thursday and it was all for a good cause.
The 2nd Annual Conant Cup raised money and awareness for Muscular Dystrophy, a disorder that hits close to home with the Conant's. Jared Conant has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and the idea for the charity tournament came from his love of soccer. He started as the statistician for the Yarmouth high school soccer team but wanted to do more. That led to the creation of Maine's only sub-varsity soccer tournament. The goal is to raise $5,000 which will go to Jared's Muscle Walk Team. You can find more information about that here.
