These were the winning words for the National Spelling Bee for the past five years.
Today, January 23, Harrison Middle School held the HMS Spelling Bee. The Bee began with 14 students. Congratulations to all participants; with a total of 442 students in Grades 5, 6, 7, and 8 the finalists did very well.
Participants:
Grade 5: Emily Corson, Spencer King, Michael McNeil, and Maya Parlin
Grade 6: Wyatt Bates and Hannah Zimmerman
Grade 7: Sierra Gilmore, Sophie Harpool, Cooper May, and Eva Then
Grade 8: Isabel Bates, Nate Dealaman, Chris Romano, and Hannah Van Alstine
Our results are:
Co-Champions: Isabel Bates and Chris Romano
Neither student missed a word for six rounds and move onto the Cumberland County Spelling Bee.
The Cumberland County Spelling Bee is scheduled for February 12 at the Falmouth Middle School Cafetorium at 6:30.
