Once again this year the HMS students took on the Sea Dogs "Slugger's Reading Challenge" in order to earn money toward our classroom libraries. Molly Kilpatrick shared the exciting information below:
The Portland Sea Dogs called today to announce that HMS won first place in the 2015 Slugger's Reading Challenge!
100% of our students participated in turning in forms that listed 5 books they've read this year.
As the first place winner, our school has been awarded $1,000 for classroom libraries! This wouldn't have been possible without our students' commitment and our LA teachers' guidance and diligence.
Special thanks to Molly Kilpatrick and and Liz Reinsborough for all of the time and energy they put into this project-HMS would not have been recognized without your efforts! Congratulations to all!
