Garden Buddies

On Friday, May 1tst, our 5th grade and 8th grade students helped out at the YES garden as part of the HMS buddy program. Students worked hard at weeding, removing rocks, and spreading compost in order to get the garden ready for planting. Thanks to our students and their teachers for tending to our garden!

All the weeds were used to line the run of the chicken coop, so the hens are delighted!

Thanks again for coming down and working some magic! There will be an open garden time this summer and I hope I see kids return to enjoy the space. As soon as we hire our high school helper, we'll pick a day/time and I'll send you the info to pass on to students.
